Tragic Confirmation
The cause of death for Euphoria actor Angus Cloud has been officially confirmed and ruled as accidental.
The 25-year-old actor tragically passed away in July after being discovered unresponsive at his family residence in Oakland, California. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Accidental Overdose
Recent reports have unveiled that Angus Cloud’s death resulted from an “accidental overdose” involving cocaine, methamphetamine, and fentanyl.
The Alameda County Coroner’s Office issued a statement, specifying, “Angus Cloud died from a lethal combination of fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine, and more, in what is ruled as an accidental overdose.”
It was also noted that Angus had suffered from acute intoxication due to the combination of drugs, which also included benzodiazepine.
Heartbreaking Loss and Grief
Angus Cloud’s passing occurred just a week after the actor had traveled to Ireland to bury his father, with whom he shared a close bond.
His father, Conor Hickey, had succumbed to cancer in May, following a brief battle with the disease. The loss of his father left Angus struggling with profound grief.
911 Call and Initial Suspicions
Angus Cloud’s mother, Lisa, made the 911 call for the Euphoria star, indicating a “possible overdose.” She also informed authorities that he did not have a pulse.
Initially, Angus’s family had raised concerns that his death might have been a suicide. However, they later clarified that it was “abundantly clear that he did not intend to check out of this world.”
Law enforcement revealed that Angus did not leave a note before his untimely passing.
A Mother’s Tribute
Lisa, Angus’s mother, shared a touching tribute to her son following the public announcement of his death. She expressed her appreciation for the love and support her family received during this difficult time.
Lisa also shed light on Angus’s last day, describing it as a joyful one in spite of his grief over his father’s passing. Angus had reportedly spent time reorganizing his room and discussed plans to assist family members with college shortly before his death.
Zendaya’s Tribute
Angus Cloud’s co-star, Zendaya, who shared many on-screen moments with the actor in the series Euphoria, paid tribute to him as well.
The two actors had a brother-sister dynamic in the show, and Zendaya expressed her gratitude for having known Angus.
She wrote, “Words are not enough to describe the infinite beauty that is Angus (Conor). I’m so grateful I got the chance to know him in this life […] I’ll cherish every moment.”
