Catholics all across the world are being urged by the Vatican to share their experiences in helping migrants and refugees.

Pope Francis asks: “How can we cultivate an edifying contact with migrants and refugees?” in a video message made public on July 28 in advance of the World Day of Migrants and Refugees.

To respond to that question, send a brief video, written reflection, or images to media@migrants-refugees.va, according to a request from the Vatican’s office for migrants and refugees in the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development.

The testimony of a Catholic family in France that has hosted refugees from Nigeria, Iran, and Albania was emphasised in the pope’s video.

The announcement to host asylum seekers was made at the conclusion of Mass, according to Bertrand Gorge, a parent from Roquefort-Les-Pins, France.

I was prompted to think, “If we don’t welcome migrants, who will?”

According to Gorge, the trip has been quite beneficial for his family, who have learned a great deal about diverse cultures and current events throughout the globe.

Each occasion has been an absolutely great experience for our kids, he said.

Pope Pius X founded the World Day of Migrants and Refugees in 1914.

Every year on the final Sunday in September, it is observed. It falls on September 25 this year.

With the theme of “Building the Future with Migrants and Refugees,” Pope Francis has already prepared a 1,200-word statement for the 108th World Migrant and Refugee Day.

In his most recent video message, the pope added, “Migrants and refugees offer us a magnificent chance for the cultural and spiritual progress of all of us.”

“As a result, it is crucial to encourage intercultural and interreligious conversation and to establish shared values for the future.”
