Canada Visa: No Covid Requirements, No Vaccination Proof

Early in October, Canada Lifts Covid Restrictions; Travelers No Longer Required to Present Vaccination Documentation

On October 1st, Canada will return to normal by lifting all Covid-19 restrictions for incoming tourists.

The removal includes criteria for testing, quarantine, and isolation.

No longer will travelers of any nationality be required to provide health information via the ArriveCAN app or give proof of immunization, according to a government statement released Monday (26/9).

Travelers will no longer be required to wear masks on aircraft and trains, although the government will continue to encourage the public to do so. Without restrictions, Canada will also welcome cruise ship passengers back.

The decision is made as infection and hospitalization rates continue to fall and immunization rates continue to rise nationwide.

“As the pandemic situation continues to change, adjustments to border measures have been influenced by the latest evidence, available data, operational concerns and the epidemiological situation, both within Canada and internationally,” the Public Health Agency of Canada said .

The Canadian Minister of Health, Jean-Yves Duclos, expressed gratitude for the accomplishment.

“Thanks in large part to Canadians who pulled up their sleeves and got vaccinated, we’ve reached the point where we can safely withdraw the sanitary precautions at the border,” Duclos said.

“However, we suspect that Covid-19 and other respiratory viruses will continue to circulate over the colder months, so I recommend everyone to maintain their Covid-19 immunizations, including booster doses, and take personal public health precautions,” he said.

Duclos stated, “I also appreciate the committed public health officers and frontline personnel at our land borders and airports who have worked relentlessly over the past two years to defend the health and safety of Canadians.”

19 provoked large protests across the country earlier this year, with hundreds of truck drivers converging on Ottawa in February and parking their massive trucks in the heart of the city, paralyzing the nation’s capital for weeks.

Tens of thousands of individuals have joined truck drivers in Ottawa to protest what they say is an exaggeration that violates their constitutional rights.
