Cam Reddish has been removed from the Knicks’ rotation, and he may be on his way out of New York.

Reddish stated many times on Wednesday night, after missing his second straight game, that he has not asked the Knicks to trade him.

“I have not asked for any trades. Reddish stated as much following the Knicks’ 113-89 victory over his former team, the Hawks. “You guys appear to know more than I do, for genuine. I don’t know what you’re talking about, but I haven’t asked for any trades or anything similar.”

The Athletic reports that the Knicks have attempted to tie Reddish to a trade aimed at dumping the $18 million payroll of Evan Fournier, who has not played since November 13. The Knicks have been working with Reddish’s representatives to identify a trade partner, according to a Wednesday report.

Reddish was acquired in a January trade that gave a first-round selection to the Hawks, and he has played in each of the Knicks’ first 19 games this season. Before missing three games in late November due to a groin injury, he made eight starts.

A healthy Reddish, along with Derrick Rose, were kept out of Tom Thibodeau’s nine-man rotation for Sunday’s home victory over the Cavaliers and Wednesday’s game, as Quentin Grimes assumed the starting shooting guard position in his absence.

“I’m uncertain [why]. I am not the appropriate person to ask. Reddish, who will be a restricted free agency at the conclusion of this season, stated, “I’m honestly not sure.” “I was performing to the best of my ability on both sides of the court. I’ll tell it again: I have no influence over the other factors.

“My role, and all that other things, is not solely dependent on me. I’m just coming in and doing out my duties… I’ll accept Coach’s decision, and that’s that.”

Obi Toppin did not return to the game after halftime due to a painful right knee, according to the Knicks.

RJ Barrett, who got a four-year extension guaranteeing $107 million during the summer, on AL MVP Aaron Judge’s decision to remain with the Yankees on a nine-year, $350 million contract: “I saw that just this morning. That is enormous. This year he was outstanding, so congratulations to him.

“It takes me a moment to process the baseball contracts. I’m like, nine years? Sheesh. We do prefer four or five. But yeah, dude, kudos to him and glad he’ll be here for another nine years!”
