Knicks former player Cam Reddish says he is happy to be on the court again after a long time out

Cam Reddish, a 23-year-old wing player, reflects on his experience with the New York Knicks earlier this season and his current opportunity with the Portland Trail Blazers.
Reddish admits that being benched by the Knicks for over two months was “messed up,” but he is grateful for the chance to play regularly with the Blazers.
In his first appearance against the Knicks since his trade to Portland, Reddish had a quiet game, scoring only two points in 19 minutes off the bench.

Reddish shares that he is still getting back to his usual self, both physically and mentally, but is thankful for the opportunity to play and is averaging 12.8 points in 14 games with the Blazers.

He had been benched by Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau after 20 appearances with eight starts earlier in the season.

Reddish believes politics and favoritism played a role in his benching and exit from the Knicks, but declined to expand on those comments.

Reddish praises Knicks assistant coach Rick Brunson for pushing him to work out and stay ready for his next opportunity, and he credits his time with the Knicks as an offseason of sorts.

Reddish appreciates the positive atmosphere with the Blazers, where he feels like he is part of a family.

Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau speaks highly of Josh Hart, who was part of the trade that brought Reddish to Portland. Thibodeau acknowledges that the trade was beneficial for both teams.
