Bulgaria, Montenegro sign cooperation agreement on news exchange

The Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) and the Montenegrin News Agency (MINA) signed a partnership agreement in Podgorica on Monday, whereby the two news agencies mutually grant and guarantee the right to receive, use, translate and disseminate the full set of news services free of charge, except materials that contain works subject to copyright to third parties.

The agreement, signed by BTA Director-General Kiril Valchev and MINA Director-General Jasa Jovicevic, envisages joint activities, exchange of experience, and professional visits by journalists and other media professionals.

Valchev said that BTA already has five such agreements with Balkan agencies: MIA of Northern Macedonia, Agerpres of Romania, ANA-MPA of Greece, Kosovapress of Kosovo, and ATA of Albania.

He noted that in September, Bulgaria will host the 30th General Assembly of the Association of the Balkan News Agencies – Southeast Europe (ABNA-SE), where this practice of information exchange will be proposed among all Balkan agencies.
