Britney Spears says her family abandoned her

Britney Spears felt abandoned by her family throughout her 13-year conservatorship.

The conservatorship of the 40-year-old pop sensation ended last year, and the “Gimme More” singer has now spoken up about her connection with her family, stating that her dad, Jamie Spears, who was her co-conservator, ordered her to work and spend time in a mental health institution.

In a 22-minute video broadcast to YouTube and Twitter, she explained, “I was terrified and broken, and I’m posting this because I want people to know I’m only human.

“I do feel victimized as a result of these events, and how can I repair this if I don’t discuss it?”

Britney accused her sister Jamie Lynn Spears and her mother Lynne of not supporting her attempt to escape a mental health facility.

In contrast, the “Toxic” singer felt the love and support of her fans, with many joining the Free Britney campaign.

The “Oops!… I Did It Again” singer, who is one of the best-selling artists of all time, stated, “The thing that made it so perplexing for me is that these people out on the street fighting for me, but my sister and my mother are not.

“It seemed to me as if they secretly, honestly lied about my being the terrible guy, as if they relished the fact that I was messed up. “Otherwise, why weren’t they yelling, “Baby girl, get in the car, let’s go?”

Britney devoted herself fully to her career throughout her conservatorship.

Nonetheless, she felt abandoned by her family.

“The thing was, I believe, the trauma of it all and how much care and emotion I put into my job, right down to the number of rhinestones on my outfit.”

And because I cared so much, they literally killed me.

“They discarded me. This is how I felt, as if my family had abandoned me.”
