British prankster announces six-hour flight delays over Greek airport loudspeaker

A tourist was led away by Greek police after repeatedly announcing bogus flight delays over the airport’s public address system.

Last Friday, the prankster incorrectly informed passengers at Zakynthos Airport in Zante, Greece, that their flights had been delayed by up to six hours.

Sam Wilson, 22 years old, decided to video the man’s antics after hearing his odd pronouncements as he was waiting for his aircraft to Birmingham.

The footage shows the guy wearing a Paris-Saint Germain tracksuit top and sunglasses while standing behind an unmanned counter at one of the airport’s boarding gates.

After leaning over the microphone, he informs other passengers that the aircraft he had planned to take to Gatwick has been delayed.

He said, “The Gatwick flight has been delayed by six hours.”

He then provides further fake travel information by stating, “Unfortunately, the trip to Manchester has been delayed for six hours.”

This notification caused considerable confusion, since no flight from the Greek airport to Manchester was booked for the day in question.

One may then see an airport security officer rushing over to the counter to confront the guy.

A police officer, armed with a pistol that he seems to unclip, rapidly assists the guard in moving the obnoxious passenger away from the gate.Zakynthos is a Greek island in the Ionian Sea and a well-known summer resort popular with Brits. Pictured: High angle view of Shipwreck beach

Despite being threatened with all kinds of legal repercussions, it seems that airport officials came to the same conclusion as this user and let him goA witness said that the cheeky holidaymaker was released after the airport threatened to hold him in the airport and confiscate his passport for three days but after a while of him just sitting in and empty room, they just told him to go

Sam, a sales manager, asserts that the individual was denied boarding on his return aircraft.

Sam from Burntwood, Staffordshire, said today, “I was traveling to Birmingham, but they were flying to Gatwick.”

We were awaiting the opening of the gates when we heard some weird statements. When I looked up I just saw him on the microphone, so I had to get my phone out.

He made three or four statements about aircraft delays of many hours. The ones I caught were at Gatwick for six hours, and it was amusing to witness people’s responses since half of the airport couldn’t even see him. Although he was probably caught since the final announcement said that the trip to Manchester was delayed by six hours when there was no flight to Manchester.

They did not know what to do or whether to leave him, so they just took him away out of concern.

After the TikTok was created, I learned that he was freed after the airport threatened to detain him and seize his passport for three days. However, after he sat in an empty room for a time, they just ordered him to go.

Sam uploaded the video on TikTok on Saturday with the caption, ‘This man was not permitted to return to Zante after this’

The video has received over 72,000 views and hundreds of likes from social media users who found the man’s airport antics to be hilarious.

One said: ‘Made me giggle.’

Another added, “Just a chuckle.” Rarely hurt others.

A third observer said, “I was also there.” It was extremely humorous. What happened to him, I wonder?

A fourth remarked, “From someone who has lived in Zakynthos, do not tamper with the Zakynthians.”

Zakynthos is a Greek island in the Ionian Sea and a well-known British vacation destination.

Since the mid-1980s, the island has been a mecca for 18-to-30-year-old travelers, resulting in the once-quiet towns of Alykanas and Laganas being hubs for nightclubs, pubs, and restaurants.
