Brad Pitt accused Angelina Jolie of tarnishing his winery’s reputation

Brad Pitt is accusing his ex-wife Angelina Jolie of deliberately attempting to harm him and his interests in their co-owned vineyard by selling her portion to a competing investor.

Brad Pitt’s lawyers claim Angelina Jolie sold her part in their winery to Russian businessman Yuri Shefler in an attempt to harm Pitt’s involvement in the company, according to new legal documents filed in Los Angeles. He claimed that her decision to sell her share to a Russian oligarch forced him into a partnership with a stranger with tainted associations and intentions, and that she knew and intended that Shefler and his associates would try to take over the business Pitt had built and undermine Pitt’s investment in the winery.

In 2008, the couple, who have six children, bought a majority interest in Chateau Miraval SA, a French firm that includes a chateau and vineyard in the south of France, and married there six years later. After the pair split in 2019, Jolie was given permission to sell her stake in 2021 for $164 million before the couple’s wider financial settlement was finalized.

Pitt, on the other hand, filed a lawsuit in February to try to keep a controlling stake in the corporation that owns the estate, demanding monetary damages, legal fees, and the revocation of Jolie’s sale of Miraval to Shefler.

Brad Pitt also stated in the complaint that they had vowed to never sell without the approval of the other. As of now, Angelina Jolie has yet to respond to the lawsuit.
