A 16-year-old student from Sydney’s southwest was allegedly stabbed in the back and taken to the hospital in a hurry.

The La Salle Catholic College in Bankstown received an emergency call just after school let out on Wednesday at approximately 3.15 p.m.

It is believed that when crossing the street, a group of kids were challenged by a different group of lads who did not go to the school.

A 16-year-old pupil was stabbed in the back, according to witnesses who spoke to Nine News, after a group of students badgered them for money.

Before paramedics came, teachers raced from their classes to help the injured teen and administered first aid.

The adolescent was spotted going to the ambulance with assistance from paramedics after receiving treatment for back lacerations.

He was rushed to the hospital and is doing well.

The students’ attackers had fled the scene by the time police arrived.

There is now a clear crime scene.

As an inquiry was being started, police were observed arriving at the school with evidence bags.

Please get in touch with Crime Stoppers if you have any information or know anyone who saw the event.
