BMW’s I Vision Dee is the world’s first color-changing automobile

BMW displayed the color-changing I Vision Dee at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in 2023.

Supercar Blondie reports that the German automaker’s E Ink technology will arrive in 2022.

Nevertheless, the I Vision Dee model is capable of altering the paint bodywork color in up to 32 distinct ways by passing different voltage programs through the paint.

BMW states, “The name “Dee” stands for Digital Emotional Experience – and that is precisely its purpose: to forge a stronger connection between people and cars in the future.”

BMW’s next generation of heads-up display technology is on exhibit in the I Vision Dee, which has projection across the entire width of the windshield.

The driver and passenger have access to information displayed on the greatest surface imaginable. CES is the largest tech product trade show in the world, and it occurs at the beginning of each year.

Below is a video of the vehicle during the CES convention in Las Vegas.

The BMW I Vision Dee is unlike anything the firm has previously shown the world. The German automaker has embraced digitalization in its entirety.

The minimal use of materials, operational controls, and displays ensures that nothing detracts from the digital experience and the new sensation of heightened driving pleasure. The I Vision Dee’s color-changing automobile technology is not the only noteworthy feature.

The oddly-shaped steering wheel, with its vertical spoke in the center, features touchpoints that come to life when approached or touched and can be manipulated by moving the thumb.

Together with the Head-Up Display, BMW invented the term “phygital” for the touchpoints that govern the selection of the content projected onto the windshield.
