Leandro Pereira do Nascimento Lo, an eight-time world champion in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, lived from 11 May 1989 until 7 August 2022.

He received victories in the Pan American Championship, the World Cup, and the Brazilian National Jiu-Jitsu Championship.

From 2011 to 2013, he had an undefeated winning run in the Copa Podio. At the Cicero Costha Academy in So Paulo, Brazil, Lo studied with Cicero Costha and received a black belt.

He founded the New School “NS” Brotherhood squad in 2015. One of the “greatest pound for pound grapplers who have ever touched the mat,” Lo is known for his guard technique.

Death: In response, the So Paulo Public Security Secretariat released the following statement:

An off-duty military police officer, age 30, shot a 33-year-old jiu-jitsu practitioner in the early hours of this Sunday, July 7, at a bar on Avenida Indianópolis in the Sade district, south of the city. The two got into a dispute, and the policeman shot the victim.

The boxer was sent to Saboya Hospital and was in a critical condition. The 16th DP (Vila Clementino), which is conducting a police inquiry into the facts, has classified the case as an attempted murder. The police department spoke on behalf of the author’s preventative arrest before the judge.

The Military Police is sorry for what occurred. The institution has opened an administrative inquiry and is helping with the author-finding efforts.
