Bethenny Frankel is suing TikTok over counterfeit commercials using her video and image

Bethenny Frankel has filed a class-action lawsuit against TikTok for allegedly using her photos and videos to advertise counterfeit goods on the platform.

In a statement released by her attorneys, the “Real Housewives of New York City” actress claims that a TikTok video she published in September “was allegedly stolen and reposted for marketing reasons by a firm selling counterfeit products.”

Frankel seeks reimbursement for “severe harm to her business and reputation,” as well as sweeping revisions to establish stronger rules on TikTok’s advertising, according to her attorneys.

Frankel said in a statement, “It came to my attention that TikTok was distributing films using my private content without my consent in order to promote items with which I have no relationship.” “I’ve noticed that this is a pervasive problem impacting creators of all sizes throughout the universe. It is intolerable, and I intend to use my platform to create a shift in the industry and be a voice for change.

Frankel stated, “I want to be a voice for change in the space.” Her attorneys requested that additional content artists who believe their work was utilized in frauds contact them in order to potentially join the lawsuit.

TikTok did not immediately respond to an inquiry from Insider.
