The Prince and Princess of Wales recently shared a video on their official social media accounts showing them behind the scenes at the Coronation Concert held in the grounds of Windsor Castle.
The video includes footage of Prince William paying tribute to the King’s coronation “pledge of service” during the event, which featured performances from Katie Perry, Sir Bryn Terfel, Take That, and more.
In the video, Prince William is seen walking up the steps towards the royal box with his wife, Princess Kate, and their two oldest children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
The family had a perfect view of the concert and could be seen laughing and giggling throughout the night.
Princess Charlotte was particularly delighted to see her father take to the stage and pointed him out to her brother.
During the 95-minute extravaganza, Take That and Lionel Richie got the royal family on their feet and dancing, including Prince Charles and Queen Camilla.
Prince William spoke about his pride for his father and fondly remembered his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.
He praised his father’s dedication to serving others and his campaigning to protect the natural world.
The concert, hosted by Downton Abbey actor Hugh Bonneville, celebrated the King’s life, from his service in the Armed Forces to his passion for the arts and his charitable work.
The show featured colourful images projected onto Windsor Castle, which became a stunning backdrop to the event as night fell.
Celebrities, including Tom Cruise, Hugh Jack, and Pierce Brosnan, recorded messages for Charles or highlighted little known facts about him.
Katy Perry dedicated her song “Firework” to the King and the work that they get to do together with the British Asian Trust and their Children’s Protection Fund.
In the finale, Take That performed “Never Forget,” and Kermit the Frog danced along.
The Coronation Concert was a night to remember for the royal family and everyone who attended.
It was a celebration of King Charles’s life and the legacy he has created through his dedication to serving others.
