Baby Drag show is cancelled

A baby sensory show featuring drag, burlesque, and BDSM acts has been cancelled due to a backlash from parents and celebrities who deemed the event highly sexualised for infants.

The CabaBabaRave show was organised by two mums and described itself as a ‘little slice of afternoon delight’ for parents who wanted to have fun with their kids.

However, critics, including actress Amanda Abbington, accused the event of being morally wrong, sparking accusations of transphobia.

Videos and promo shots featured performers with sexually suggestive names, some in bondage gear, performing in front of parents and babies.

The organisers cited online trolling and the media for their decision to cancel the show, offering refunds to ticket holders.

The CabaBabaRave event was part of the VAULT festival and was intended to offer a ‘big London night out’ experience for parents who could bring their babies along.

It included cabaret performances, drinks, and dancing. However, the backlash on social media suggested that the show was advertised as suitable for children.

Some social media users expressed disbelief that parents thought such a performance was appropriate for their infants.

This controversy followed months of protests over events such as Drag Queen Story Time, where drag queens read stories to children.

The cancellation of the CabaBabaRave show highlights the difficulty of balancing freedom of expression with protecting children’s welfare.
