The oldest man in Australia passed away quietly in his sleep at the age of 110 after battling the ravages of Covid-19.

Frank Mawer, who celebrated his birthday last month, surpassed Dexter Kruger, who died in July 2021 at the age of 111, to become the country’s oldest living individual.

Previously, he disclosed the secrets to a long life, which included not smoking, drinking, or gambling.

Mr. Mawer passed away quietly in his sleep on Saturday at the South Coast of New South Wales house of his 73-year-old son Philip in Central Tilba.

He lived in his own flat in Gymea, south of Sydney, with the assistance of HammondCare At Home personnel until he suffered a serious fall in November.

His other son Barry informed The Canberra Times that his father’s condition deteriorated rapidly after contracting Covid-19 weeks before his death.

In recent months, he lived life to the fullest. He insisted on eating while seated, did his exercises daily, and had many guests,’ added.

Saturday afternoon, he went to take a nap but never awoke.

Mrs. Mawer was diagnosed with dementia before to passing away from breast cancer.

Mr. Mawer stated, “It was a lengthy union with a beautiful woman.”

Mr. Mawer’s extended family consisted of thirteen grandkids, twenty-one great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren at the time of his passing.

Before Christmas, Mr. Mawer and his extended family had spent over six decades at the Blue Lagoon Beach Resort in Bateau Bay on the NSW Central Coast.

A street in the caravan park was named in their honor.

Mr. Mawer attended Horizon Church in Sutherland, southern Sydney, on a regular basis.

The church will have a memorial service for Mr. Mawer at a later date, once his corpse has been cremated on the South Coast.
