Australia Post driver chucks parcel on Bathurst man’s lawn

The ‘outrageous’ drive-by ‘delivery’ of a maybe the most sluggish Australia Post driver in history has earned him public disgrace.

The van then picked up speed and drove off as if the driver's delivery style was nothing worth commenting on

The van driver may have gotten away with his odd method, but the home’s door camera captured the incident.

The video shows a white van carrying a package for Mitch Woodhouse slowing down on a quiet suburban street in Bathurst, New South Wales.

However, the driver subsequently performs an unexpected action. He doesn’t stop.

He simply rolls down his window and tosses Mr. Woodhouse’s package several meters onto the lawn, putting it ‘in a safe area’ according to Australia Post’s tracker.

A photo shows an Australia Post delivery driver slowing down and then tossing a parcel onto a lawn, just missing a concrete driveway.

It nearly avoided landing on the concrete driveway, but that was about the only positive aspect of the unconventional delivery strategy.

The driver accelerated and continued driving as if nothing had happened.

He did not anticipate that Mr. Woodhouse would capture the entire event on camera and share it not only on Facebook, but also with Australia Post.

Mr. Woodhouse stated, “Didn’t quite get it in the mailbox or at the front door.”

The van suddenly accelerated and sped away, as if the driver’s delivery manner were unremarkable.

Additionally, he tweeted a screenshot of the message he received from Australia Post stating that his package had been “placed in a secure location at your address.”

A comment below the post stated, “Very secure location where it was left.”

“Too slothful to get out of the car,” remarked another.

One commenter suspected that the driver was working two jobs.

They stated, “He may have been confused with his second employment as a newspaper carrier.”

Mr. Woodhouse received an apology from Australia Post for the improper handling of his package.

“These acts are inconsistent with the excellent service standards we expect from our employees, and we have apologized to the customer,” the company informed Daily Mail Australia.

The contractor is no longer providing delivery services for Australia Post.

Mitch Woodhouse’s box was left ‘in a safe area’ at his home, according to Australia Post.
