When her son Bronx, who is underage, was inadvertently given booze, Ashlee Simpson reacted immediately by going into full-on parent mode.
The “Pieces of Me” singer revealed to Jennifer Hudson on Tuesday that she was out with Bronx, 14, and her husband, Evan Ross, at a movie theater when a waiter inquired about the “tall” teenager’s interest in a drink off the menu.
Simpson, 38, promptly informed the employee at the moment, “He’s not my buddy.” He’s a buddy of mine, but this is my son, who is 14 years old.
“[He] isn’t drinking on my watch. not until he turns 21.
The ex-reality star continued by telling the viewers of the “Jennifer Hudson Show” that Bronx “towers above” her and has a “deep” voice like “a young guy.”
He is pretty laid-back, however, so I’m happy for that, said Simpson, who has the adolescent with her ex-husband, Pete Wentz. So far, he’s a nice child. Hold your position, dude.
The MTV star has been open about co-parenting since since she divorced from Wentz in 2011 and began raising two additional kids with Ross, daughter Jagger, 7, and son Ziggy, 2.
Simpson claimed to have “lucked out” with the Fall Out Boy frontman, 43, and his girlfriend, Meagan Camper, in an interview with Us Weekly in 2018.
There is a lot of respect amongst all of us, Ross, 34, said. That facilitates it. Additionally, we are all really close friends.
The following year, Wentz, who shares Camper’s children Saint, 8, and Marvel, 4, referred to his ex-wife as a “wonderful parent.”
While neither Simpson nor Wentz shared a photo on Instagram to mark Bronx’s birthday in November 2022, her sister, Jessica Simpson, did.
“I love you SO much,” the 42-year-old “Newlyweds” alum wrote. “Everyone who has the good fortune to know you, love you, and be loved by you thinks of you as a gift. Being your aunt has been and will continue to be one of my life’s greatest blessings.
Meanwhile, Tina Simpson wished the “coolest, sweetest grandson” a happy birthday in a social media message on the uploaded photo.
