As Nebraska gubernatorial pick fails, Trump fears his first primary loss in 2022

Donald Trump has shown that he has coattails in the 2022 midterm elections so far, but he suffered his first defeat Tuesday evening when his choice for governor of Nebraska lost after many allegations of sexual misconduct.

All eyes were on the Nebraska and West Virginia primaries on Tuesday, as voters choose who they wanted to compete against the opposition party in November.

In both states, Trump endorsed Republican gubernatorial candidate Charles Herbster in Nebraska and Republican House candidates Carol Miller and Alex Mooney in West Virginia.

With nearly all polling places reporting in West Virginia Tuesday evening, Mooney prevailed with 54 percent of the vote for the 2nd congressional district in the deep red state.
