Argentina will face the Springboks in an extra Rugby World Cup warm-up match in 2023

The Springboks will face Argentina in Buenos Aires as part of their preparations for the 2023 Rugby World Cup.

The Argentina Rugby Union, abbreviated as UAR, made the statement over the holiday season.

The world champion Springboks will face the Pumas on August 5 at the Velez Sarsfield Stadium in a match that will not be part of the 2019 Rugby Championship.

Gabriel Travaglini, president of the UAR, issued the following statement: “We want to have a terrific year, always striving to develop all parts of our rugby so that more and more people can enjoy the sport, either as athletes or fans, and that we can continue to build the passion for rugby.”

Additionally, the announcement listed the Pumas’ three Rugby Championship matchups.

They will face the All Blacks in Mendoza on July 8, and then go to Australia and South Africa.

SANZAAR is yet to release the remainder of the 2023 Rugby Championship schedule, which is reduced to a single round owing to the 2023 World Cup in France, which begins on 8 September.
