According to figures supplied by the Ministry of Defence, a total of 18,284 persons have crossed the Channel this year, with 1,885 of those migrants landing in August alone (MoD). The first batch of at least 80 migrants arrived in Dover, Kent, soon before 7 a.m. aboard the Border Force ship Typhoon.

Border Force personnel led them off the ship before loading them into a bus to be transferred to processing.

Two guys were observed walking down the gangway holding hands and supporting each other.

At before 8 a.m., a second group of around 50 passengers landed at the port aboard the Border Force cutter Ranger.

Soldiers in camouflage fatigues escorted at least four youngsters and a little infant covered in a blue blanket down the sidewalk.

It comes after around 500 migrants made the treacherous voyage over the 21-mile Dover Strait in inflatable dinghies and other small vessels over the weekend.

Official government records show that 337 individuals landed on British shores in 10 boats on Saturday, with another 176 apprehended at sea in five vessels on Sunday.

Near the early hours of Saturday morning, the French coastguard (CROSS) in Griz Nez stopped another 42 migrants from crossing the Channel.

The CROSS was alerted to a boat in trouble in the Calais Straits and entrusted the French Navy rescue tug Abeille Normandie with rescuing a party of trapped individuals.

Abeille Normandie transported 42 migrants to the port of Boulogne-sur-Mer, where they were cared by the the departmental fire and rescue service and border police.

In 2021, 28,526 persons made the perilous voyage, compared to 8,410 in 2020.

‘The growth in unsafe Channel crossings is unacceptable,’ said a government official.

‘Not only are they an open violation of our immigration rules, but they endanger lives and impede our capacity to assist refugees who arrive in the UK via safe and legal channels.’

‘The Nationality and Borders Act will allow us to clamp down on system abuse and vile people traffickers, who will now face a potential term of life imprisonment.’

Priti Patel, the Home Secretary, championed the Rwanda plan.

‘Under our new Migration and Economic Development Partnership with Rwanda, we are continuing to make plans to transfer people who are undertaking risky, needless, and unlawful trips into the UK in order for their claims to be heard and their lives to be rebuilt.’

Following an increase in Albanians using tiny boats to reach Britain, MPs urged on government this night to redouble their efforts to repatriate migrants to Rwanda.

Those attempting the risky voyage are advised that a new Prime Minister would suspend all crossings with guards and reduce their fees from £10,000 to £2,000.

According to leaked data, migrants from the Balkan nation — a Nato member seeking to join the EU – now account for four out of every 10 arrivals in northern France.

In the six weeks leading up to July 12, 1,075 Albanians arrived in the UK on dinghies and small boats.

During the time, they accounted for 37.5% of all migrants brought to the UK in small boats by gangs, outnumbering all other nationalities, including Afghans, Iranians, Iraqis, and Syrians.

Conservative backbenchers urged the next Prime Minister to act quickly. ‘It’s evident that many Albanians arriving in the UK in tiny boats are not escaping war or persecution,’ said Natalie Elphicke, Tory MP for Dover. This is apparent illegality, and it emphasizes the need of moving on with Rwanda and similar scams.’

In other news, The Sun says that hiding inside a truck may cost up to £22,000, despite the considerable danger of being detected.

‘Albanians are being warned that hundreds of people will be monitoring the Channel, walls will surround the shore, and they will be turned back and lose their money,’ a source added.

‘It’s coming from the mafia so they can profit from a big inflow.’

When there is a PM, a new falsehood will be invented – whatever it takes to keep this wicked commerce afloat.’

The ‘really eye-opening’ findings, according to Tom Hunt, Tory MP for Ipswich, ‘underline why it’s so vital that the Government gets on with introducing the Rwanda plan,’ he said. When Parliament returns from its summer holiday, legislation to bring the Rwanda proposal to fruition should be at the top of the ‘in tray.’

Welby condemns the ‘unethical’ treatment
The Archbishop of Canterbury has asked Anglican bishops to speak out against migrant “unethical treatment” and climate change.

In his most recent overtly political engagement, Justin Welby urged Church of England officials to “take risks,” warning that failure to intervene would make them “one of the oppressors.”

The former oil CEO described climate change as a “undeclared war,” warning that it might result in 1.2 billion refugees, with repercussions “tragic beyond anything in human history.”

‘To remain quiet on the immoral treatment of migrants, or on war or oppression, on human rights violations, on persecution, is to be one of the oppressors,’ he told the Lambeth Conference of Anglican bishops. ‘I believe both the Cabinet and I would say not so much currently,’ he continued.

It occurred after the Archbishop used his Easter sermon this year to criticize Home Secretary Priti Patel’s Rwanda asylum agreement, claiming that the plan’s’serious ethical concerns’ would not withstand God’s judgment.

‘No one should dispute this government’s intention to disrupt the gangs’ economic model,’ said Home Secretary Priti Patel.

‘Liz has a strategy to increase border force, ensuring the European Convention on Human Rights works for Britain, and change modern slavery rules that are being exploited,’ a source in Liz Truss’s leadership campaign claimed. The need for deterrence is critical, which is why we will guarantee that the migration agreement with Rwanda works and search for further arrangements.’

Stopping crossings will be a primary goal for Rishi Sunak’s campaign, according to a spokeswoman, who added, ‘It is entirely unacceptable that migrants from peaceful nations, such as Albania, are attempting to enter the UK illegally.’

The number of Albanians who came by small boat in the six-week period, according to the most recent government statistics, positions the nation well down the arrivals league table.

Only 271 small boats arrived in Britain in the first quarter of this year, with a total of 757 arriving in 2021. However, Albanians filed over 5,000 asylum applications in the year to March, indicating that an increasing number of people are turning to small boats instead of alternative means of entering the UK, such as hiding in trucks.

Last night, the Home Office provided no explanation for the increase of Albanian asylum claimants.

‘If these individuals are not legitimately fleeing for their life, then it is not up to the British public to help them,’ said Richard Tice of Reform UK, who got the leaked study.

Clare Moseley of the refugee organization Care4Calais questioned if the Albanian influx was a “anomaly.” ‘The data clearly reveals that the bulk of persons crossing the Channel in recent years were genuine refugees,’ she added. ‘If there has been a shift, it seems that the success of small boat crossings is influencing smugglers’ behavior.’

‘The growth in risky Channel crossings is unacceptable,’ said a government spokeswoman. The Nationality and Borders Act makes deliberately entering the UK unlawfully a criminal crime, and we have imposed life penalties for those who aid illegal immigration into the nation.’
