The poster, unveiled recently, depicted rivalries in Wimbledon’s history, but notably featured Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz at the forefront, while two-time champion Murray was conspicuously absent.

Murray Unfazed by Personal Exclusion

While Murray stated that he was not personally bothered by his absence from the artwork, he expressed strong criticism of the overall design.

He remarked, “It was a disaster, wasn’t it? I don’t need to elaborate any more on it, it’s pretty obvious if you see the poster.”

Murray found it peculiar that players with incredible careers and remarkable success at Wimbledon were positioned behind Sinner and Alcaraz, who, while talented, are relatively new to the tennis scene.

Family Members and Fans Voice Disapproval

When the poster was revealed without Murray’s inclusion, his brother Jamie voiced his surprise on social media, asking, “where’s Andy Murray?” Additionally, Murray’s uncle, Neil Erskine, criticized the artwork, describing it as “appalling” and highlighting the exclusion of a British history-maker.

He expressed his disappointment, suggesting that those responsible should be ashamed of themselves.

Murray Remains Unconcerned About Personal Omission

Despite the controversy surrounding his absence from the poster, Murray emphasized his lack of personal investment in the matter, stating, “I personally don’t really care that much about it.”

While he found the overall design and selection process perplexing, he appeared unfazed by his own exclusion from the artwork.
