Anambra International Convention Centre For Inauguration March 9

Anambra International Convention Center, Awka will be commissioned on the ninth of March, 2022.

 

Governor Willie Obiano stated this when he embarked on his usual inspection tour of projects.

According to the Governor, the event to mark the official commissioning of the project will feature awards to notable personalities, among other activities.

Government House Correspondent, Ejike Abana reports that accompanied by the new Executive members of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, Anambra State Council, led by its Chairman, Dr. Emeka Odogwu, Governor Obiano congratulated the leadership of the union on their victory and emergence.

 

The Governor was also accompanied by the Ex-Rangers International Football Players including Christian Chukwu, Emmanuel Okala and Stanley Okolo, among others.

The Commissioner for Information and Communication Strategy, Mr. C-Don Adinuba was also present while the Commissioner for Housing, Architect Michael Okonkwo and the Project Contractor, Mr. Mark Tu were on ground to receive them.

 

The Governor thereafter inspected some upcoming facilities at Anambra International Cargo and Passenger Airport, Umueri, being repositioned for further upgrade, where he disclosed that Anambra state government is pushing to have the first international flight at the Airport in less than two weeks from now.

Also speaking, the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Mr. C-Don Adinuba noted that Governor Obiano has indeed impacted positively on the information sector including advancements recorded in the ABS and appreciated the governor for allowing journalists perform their duty without fear or molestation.

Responding, the NUJ state Chairman, Dr. Odogwu described the projects as massive, noting that they would boost the State economy.

 

Some journalists who were part of the tour including the Vice Chairman of the Council, Ngozi Obileri, David Eleke, Ebele Eze, among others praised the efforts of the governor especially in the area of legacy projects, while Emmanuel Okala and Harrison Okagbue of Ex-Rangers observed that the projects will transform lives when fully utilized.
