While tendering a tearful farewell to her struggling network, CNN anchor Ana Cabrera suggested that she wouldn’t be absent for long.

Thursday on her 1 p.m. broadcast, Cabrera remarked, “It’s difficult to leave this place and these individuals who mean so much to me.” “However, I’m not leaving the work that I love. I am dedicated to learning and growing as a journalist, and I am eager to start a new chapter in my career. However, I plan to begin the new year by spending time with my family.”

As previously reported by The Post, Cabrera is anticipated to return after the holidays in a new role at MSNBC, where she will host the 11 a.m. slot, after serving out the non-compete provision in her CNN contract.

MSNBC declined to comment.

In 2013, Cabrera joined CNN. She has conducted two presidential town halls and was the first to interview Nikki Haley after the historic vote on North Korea sanctions. Additionally, she presented nine continuous hours of breaking news coverage following the 2017 terrorist incident on London Bridge.

On her final concert, she stated, “My heart is brimming with a variety of feelings, but largely thanks.” “I feel very fortunate to have had so many opportunities to see and share the globe with you and my CNN colleagues.”

CNN’s parent company, Warner Bros. Discovery, aims to bolster $3.5 billion over the next three years, and Cabrera’s departure coincides with the network’s drastic cost reductions.

This month, CNN president Chris Licht eliminated hundreds of positions, including renowned CNN correspondents Alison Kosik, Martin Savidge, Alex Field, Mary Ann Fox, and Chris Cillizza, as well as the whole HLN network.

Cabrera’s resignation was voluntary and unrelated to the carnage, according to various people who spoke to The Post.
