According to local sources, a Pennsylvania man who allegedly entered a Dairy Queen with a loaded revolver and told police he wanted to “kill Democrats and liberals” is facing criminal charges.
According to CBS News Pittsburgh, Jan Stawovy, 61, was carrying a loaded weapon and additional ammunition when he entered the Dairy Queen in Delmont, Pennsylvania on Saturday (KDKA). He was wearing a rainbow-colored clown wig, and according to police, he claimed he wanted to restore Trump to the president.
Stawovy was detained by police, and a search warrant led to the discovery of more firearms and ammunition in his vehicle.
A Facebook account that appears to belong to Stawovy has shared many pro-Trump and far-right posts, including a link to a video about the “Deep State” and the “Great Awakening,” popular refrains among QAnon followers. The account also uploaded a statement that appeared to predict a civil war in 2024.
In recent years, a number of QAnon adherents have been linked to violent and frequently odd acts. Last year, a QAnon adherent allegedly slaughtered his two children with a speargun after receiving covert warnings that they would become monsters. A Michigan man who was allegedly obsessed with QAnon conspiracy theories shot his wife and daughter after a quarrel last week. His wife succumbed to her injuries, although his daughter survived emergency surgery. A second daughter who was not there at the incident revealed her father’s radicalization by QAnon.
The Facebook account that purported to belong to Stawovy has also shared various images of letters that appear to have been sent by churches banning him from attending services. In one of the letters, dated August 6, 2021, a pastor states that Stawovy is banned from all church property due to his “outbursts and escalated acts” over the course of several weeks. The letter invites Stawovy to “seek out for assistance from a knowledgeable expert.”
Early in September, a second letter from a different Pennsylvania church stated that it had become “increasingly worried” about Stawovy’s “behavior” and barred him from its premises.
At one point, the letter states, “Your clown costume and full makeup startled several of our attendees.”
The chief of the Delmont Borough Police Department, Timothy Klobucar, shared a specific officer on Facebook on Tuesday for their swift response to the scene and arrest of Stawovy, which “was able to prevent the possibility of a mass casualty catastrophe.”
CBS reports that Stawovy is awaiting a preliminary arraignment for his charges.
