Amber Heard spotted shopping at TJ Maxx in New York after claiming she cannot afford to pay Depp

Amber Heard, the embattled Aquaman star, was spotted bargain shopping at a TJ Maxx in New York after Johnny Depp won his defamation trial against her and was awarded $15 million.

According to TMZ, the 36-year-old actress and her sister, Whitney Henriquez, went discount shopping at the Bridgehampton retail business.

The sisters were spotted searching clothing shelves and debating white linen trousers, according to the outlet.

Heard was seen wearing her hair in a bun, a white shirt, and baggy trousers, a stark contrast to her lavish court ensembles and hairdo.

Henriquez once parked her shopping car to the side so an older woman could check herself in the mirror to determine if her probable purchase favored her.

Henriquez was by Heard’s side throughout the trial, testifying against Depp and giving an emotional message after the verdict confirming her support for Heard.

It comes after the actress openly stated she can’t afford the $8.3 million in damages Depp was granted on June 1.

It’s unclear whether Depp will pursue the verdict and demand that Heard pay the entire amount.

His lawyers have intimated that this isn’t the case, claiming that the goal of the action, to restore hs reputation after she made allegations of domestic abuse in a 2016 Washington Post op-ed, has already been accomplished.

Speaking to NBC’s Dateline last week, Heard chose to focus on the positives after the trial damaged her reputation and reduced her job options.

The actress stated that one benefit of not being preoccupied with work right now is that she can enjoy being a full-time mother to her one-year-old daughter Oonagh.

Heard told Dateline’s Savannah Guthrie in an interview aired in its full for the first time Friday that she was ‘terrified’ of giving her side of the story.

Heard stated that she was hurt by the “hate and vitriol” showered at her, but she did not regret pursuing the case.

‘I know the scariest, most intimidating thing for anybody talking about sexual violence is not being believed, being called a liar, or being humiliated,’ she said.

Heard said she was not speaking out because she was ‘vindictive’.

‘This would be a really lousy way of getting vengeance,’ she said.

‘As silly as it is to say this out loud, my goal is – I just want people to see me as a human being.’

Heard’s interview raised eyebrows, with her repeating her defamatory allegations that he beat her.

Despite continuing to air her allegations, Heard insists that she wants nothing more than to move on with her life, telling Guthrie: ‘I look forward to living my life and I have a long one, I hope, in front of me. And I will continue to walk through this with my chin up.’

In the interview, Heard admits that she ‘absolutely still loves’ Depp – despite branding him a ‘liar’ who swayed the jury with his ‘fantastic acting’, as well as:

‘I will [stand by my testimony] to my dying day. I know what happened to me. I’m here as a survivor,’ she said.

‘To my dying day I will stand by every word of my testimony.’

Yet on Friday, shortly before the interview aired, Heard’s team insisted they were unrepentant.

‘If Mr Depp or his team have a problem with this, we recommend that Johnny himself sit down with Savannah Guthrie for an hour and answer all her questions,’ a spokesperson told DailyMail.com, as Heard branded Depp, 59, a ‘liar’ and doubled down on claims that he beat her and sexually assaulted her during their relationship.

Heard also provided a ‘binder full’ of notes from her therapist, which she claims is new proof supporting her allegations of physical and sexual abuse against Depp, despite the fact that the materials were previously dismissed by the judge.

Heard sent up “years’ worth” of therapist notes outlining incidents in which she claims the actor “hit her, threw her against a wall, and threatened to kill her.”

However, the judge in her trial against Depp had previously discarded the notes as “hearsay” and prevented her legal team from using them as evidence.

Nonetheless, the actress has made the binder public, which ‘dates back to 2011 from the very beginning of her relationship.’

‘Heard informed her therapist Depp ‘hit her, threw her on the floor,” according to the notes, which date back to January 2012.

Eight months after that he ‘ripped her nightgown, threw her on the bed’ and then in 2013 ‘he threw her against a wall and threatened to kill her’, the notes allege.

A jury determined earlier this month that Heard defamed her ex-husband by posting a column in the Washington Post about being a sexual assault survivor.

The judge ordered her to pay Depp $10 million in compensatory damages and $5 million in punitive damages, albeit the judge reduced the second amount to $350,000 due to Virginia law.

She was given a meager $2 million in compensatory damages, leaving Depp out of the lawsuit and Heard paying him $8.35 million.
