AmaZulu fired coach Brandon Truter after their loss to the new boys, Richards Bay

Brandon Truter was let go by AmaZulu on Thursday. Truter’s departure came after the Durban-based club’s slump in form and suspicions of internal disputes among the players.

Usuthu have lost their previous three Premiership games, the most recent being a 1-0 loss to top-flight newcomers Richards Bay in the KwaZulu-Natal derby on Wednesday.

“The AmaZulu Football Club wishes to inform you that it has parted ways with head coach Brandon Truter.” “The 52-year-old had been in command for just over five months,” the club said in a statement.

“He has impressed since taking over after Benni McCarthy’s departure in March.” However, the current season has been challenging, with the team winning only three Premiership games.

19 games, seven wins, seven ties, and five losses make up Truter’s record. We appreciate his collaboration and dedication to the team and wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors.

Truter admitted that he was under pressure after AmaZulu’s loss to Richards Bay. He also targeted attacker Lehlohonolo Majoro, claiming that his team was unable to play because they were “depleted.”

“I’m under a lot of pressure to win this game.” I feel it, and the players do as well. We come with the drive and determination to win. The Major (Majoro) had a chance to score. I’m not feeling well or cheerful right now. I’m feeling a little pressed. It’s not getting any easier. Without disrespect to the players who played today, we are missing seven players. We also have injuries and sicknesses. “It’s a depleted team,” Truter said.

Truter’s dismissal ends his five-month tenure as CEO of AmaZulu. Following McCarthy’s firing in March—McCarthy has since joined Manchester United as a first-team coach—the club made him an unexpected interim appointment.

Truter was eventually promoted to full-time coach by the team after a string of outstanding performances in the second half of the season.

Meanwhile, it is unclear who will be the new AmaZulu coach, though it is likely that they will be able to hire an experienced tactician considering that Lehlohonolo Seema, Dylan Kerr, and Ernst Middendorp are all out of work.
