The traumatic moment an Amazon delivery driver ran over and murdered a family’s beloved dog, Alfie, was captured by a camera outside the residence.

Linda Banwell, 48, from Newdigate in Surrey, called the offer of a £250 voucher 'insulting'
Mother-of-two Linda Banwell, 48, from Newdigate, Surrey, was ‘insulted’ by Amazon’s offer of a £250 voucher as compensation for the tragedy.

The death of Alfie was recorded on Ms. Banwell’s family’s Ring doorbell. She observed as the van’s driver departed the scene without checking on her pet, who was 17 years old.

She stated, “I live on a 2.5-acre property that is completely walled off for the dogs, so they are really safe.”

There are also several evidence indicating the presence of dogs.

The Amazon package for my mother, who lives in the annex of my home, has arrived. I proceeded to deliver the package to her, and when I returned to the driveway, I found Alfie lying dead on the ground and the vehicle driving away.

When we examined the Ring doorbell, we discovered that he was driving ahead, contrary to what I had anticipated.

The offer of a £250 coupon was deemed offensive by Linda Banwell, 48, of Newdigate, Surrey.

She told Surrey Live, “He was covered in blood, and there is still a trace on my driveway.”

She remarked, “We are absolutely devastated, he was a member of the family.”

As he aged, we realized that every day was a gift. I believed I would be able to make this decision when we were all at his house with his entire family.

Following her complaint to Amazon about the incident, she was granted a £250 coupon as compensation.

She stated, “When I saw this, I gave it to my husband and told him, “I can’t do this longer,” because I did not believe they were taking it seriously.

Nobody understands unless they experience it themselves. It is merely insulting.’

She reported that Amazon declined to provide any information on the driver or the company’s response to the incident.

I only want him to realize what he has done.

Ms. Banwell stated that there are numerous signs indicating the presence of dogs on the site.

Alfie, the white West Highland terrier, was rescued by Ms. Banwell nine years ago. Additionally, the family has a West Highland terrier named Charlie.

“A friend of mine and their granddaughter were harvesting apples at my house.”

Okay, he didn’t see Alfie, but if a child had been present, would he have spotted her?

Ms. Banwell has contacted Surrey Police, but the police has stated that the inquiry would take around six weeks.

Ms. Banwell stated, “I have had a few harsh comments asking why the dog was outside, but you must see my house to comprehend why he was outside.

“I live in the country, and my driveway can accommodate approximately 20 automobiles; therefore, it is part of my garden.”

After Alfie was killed by the delivery van, an Amazon spokeswoman stated the company is “taking this incident seriously.”

Ms. Banwell stated, “Charlie will miss him as much as we do.”

“I am considering more rescues, but I am unsure if I can handle it at this time. However, I am not ruling it out.”

“I have seen a woman with a face identical to Alfie’s, and I am attracted to her.”

Amazon’s representative stated, “We have extremely high criteria for our delivery service providers and how they serve our customers.”

We are taking this situation seriously and have reached out to the consumer for assistance.

MailOnline has been informed that an insurance claim is currently being processed.

Surrey Police acknowledged that a report has been received and is undergoing review.
