Albania enters the top 10 nations where UK parents were born

According to recent data, Albania has risen to the top ten most frequent places of birth for both mothers and dads born outside the United Kingdom.

Albania is now the seventh most frequent place of birth for women born outside the UK, according to annual birth figures for England and Wales released last year.

Births to Polish moms saw the greatest drop in 2021, falling 8.6 percent.

Pakistan is the most prevalent country of birth for dads born outside the UK.

Births to dads born in Poland had the greatest reduction, falling by 10.3 percent between 2020 and last year.

Since 2015, the percentage of births to Polish-born dads has been falling.

According to a military intelligence analysis seen by the Mail on Sunday, four out of every ten migrants crossing the Channel in tiny boats in recent weeks have come from Albania.

The percentage of births in England to women born outside the country fell from 30.2% in 2020 to 29.6% in 2021.

The percentage of births in Wales to women born outside the UK climbed from 11.8% in 2020 to 12.4% last year.

Total fertility rates for UK-born women in England and Wales grew to 1.54 children per woman in 2021, up from 1.49 children per woman in 2020.

Total fertility rates for non-UK born women remained unchanged at 2.03 children per woman.
