Alaskan moose runs off after shedding his antlers

An Alaskan moose raced off without his antlers after shaking them off.

Alaskan residents Tyra and Chance Bogert’s doorbell camera captured the unusual event. The pair did not anticipate seeing a moose lose its antlers or get a notice from their doorbell camera while they were out and about.

The animal in the doorbell video sits motionless for a considerable amount of time before shaking its head like a dog, which causes its antlers to come off. The video has received close to 19 million views.

The animal fled to the other side of the yard, leaving behind a fragment of himself, as though startled by the situation.

Tyra told Alaska’s New Source, “He frightened the snot out of himself, that’s for sure, and he ran off sprinting the other way.”

Although moose often lose their antlers each year, it is unusual for both of them to do so at the same time.

According to the Bogert’s, who measured the antlers in a different video, the antlers as a whole are slightly under 51 inches broad.

Their three-month-old son Thrasher can fit nicely in the main area of the antlers since they are so huge.

According to Newsweek, they want to put the antlers in their house.

After the amazing encounter, the moose apparently found its confidence again and came back to the property to chow down on some trees, according to Chance.

According to the University of Missouri, moose typically lose their antlers between December and March.

New growths begin straight once when a male moose loses its antlers, however they may not always become visible right away.

Their antlers are coated in “velvet” when they start to develop, which shears off by summer to reveal a more polished appearance. Their antlers stiffen during the autumn, the mating season, and are often employed in battles with rival males. According to the University of Missouri, it starts to loosen as winter approaches and finally sheds.
