According to his counsel, the man accused of killing his mother, who was described by her family as intelligent and kind, is having a difficult time comprehending what is going on.

Wendy Sleeman vanished from her Gold Coast house on January 25 and Slade Murdok, 30, has been charged with her abduction and murder.

Two days later, the 61-year-corpse old’s was discovered in the trunk of her parked vehicle at a Brisbane apartment building.

The day before her death was discovered, Mr. Murdok was detained and accused with many crimes, including abduction. He was accused of her homicide on Tuesday.

Lawyer Rodney Keyte said to reporters outside court on Tuesday in Brisbane, “He’s going through his own issues and is being charged with matricide; he’s trying to work this all out in his brain.”

As it would for anybody, processing that knowledge will take him a while.

After being denied bail last week, Mr. Murdok has spent the previous six days at the Brisbane watch house.

Mr. Keyte said that Mr. Murdok instructed him to investigate the possibility of submitting a second bail application to the Supreme Court.

I have instructions, and we are now going through those instructions, he stated.

It is still extremely early; according to his instructions to me, he was not involved in or aware of the occurrence.

On Tuesday, Mr. Keyte represented his client in front of Brisbane Magistrates Court and asked for a postponement in the delivery of DNA samples and fingerprints.

He has a hand problem, which makes it difficult for him to provide his fingerprints, Mr. Keyte informed the court.

I told him that I didn’t believe the court could grant his motion, which would have allowed him to wait until his hand was healed before providing a fingerprint.

The appeal was turned down.

Along with these allegations, Mr. Murdok is accused of unlawful stalking, burglary, assault with a dangerous weapon, abduction, attempted arson, and illegal use of a motor vehicle.

The brother and sister of Ms. Sleeman have requested that people think of her as kind, amusing, and kind.

They praised Ms. Sleeman as an intelligent lady who had a deep affection for labradors and requested that anybody wishing to make a gift in her honor do so to the Queensland Labrador Retriever Club.

Police have received praise from Mike and Meg Sleeman for their work in the murder investigation.

In a statement, the two stated, “We applaud the painstaking effort of the Burleigh Heads CIB in this matter.”

We are finally able to bury our cherished sister. Wendy’s passing has left us very devastated.

There won’t be a funeral service, as per Wendy’s desires.

“We beg for your respect at this sad moment. We shall mourn our beautiful sister forever.”

Detective Superintendent Brendan Smith, the regional crime coordinator, said during a press conference on Tuesday afternoon that it seemed Ms. Sleeman had experienced terrible violence, but he added that disclosing any other information would be unjust to her family.

He said that Mr. Murdok, who has been “maintaining his right to silence” throughout the investigations, was the subject of a compelling case by Queensland Police.

Superintendent Smith said, “We’ve uncovered some physical evidence, computer evidence, and other evidence.”

The case has been postponed to February 14 at Southport Magistrates Court for a committal mention.

The Elanora residence of Ms. Sleeman, according to the police, had bloody pools.

On Tuesday at 3:30 p.m., Ms. Sleeman reported a possible break-in and emergency personnel were sent to her Gold Coast residence.

Officers think Ms. Sleeman was perhaps in a blue Honda Jazz that left her house quickly as they arrived.

Police are now looking for a white Ford Laser that they think Mr. Murdok used to go to the Gold Coast and abduct her.

Police are asking anybody who may have observed the car with the license plate 483ZPG to call the appropriate authorities.
