After attempting suicide the year before, rapper J Molley celebrated his birthday this past weekend by becoming a year older.
The rapper used his social media accounts to reflect on the miracle of being revived after spending four days in the intensive care unit.
“It’s my birthday today. A year ago, I attempted suicide and choked on my own blood that was flowing out of my nose and mouth before passing away on the operating table. By a miracle, I was revived, and I battled for four days in the intensive care unit,” he tweeted.
The rapper recognized how the music business and the strain that comes with it had harmed his mental health in an interview with IOL Entertainment earlier this year.
“It’s a poisonous business, particularly for my emotional well-being and cognitive processes. I really believe that the job route I chose was the worst. But because I’m now in this position and influencing so many people, I have to follow through, he said to IOL Entertainment.
The rapper said on Twitter how going through the “worst thing” he has ever experienced has made him “stronger than before.”
“My fiancée saved my life, and with the assistance of my close friends, she pulled me out of the restroom and into the ambulance. I suddenly felt as if I had already touched rock bottom. I spent a week in a mental jail cell under 24/7 lockdown with only myself after being forced into it.
He went on: “Since then, I have not attempted suicide, and today marks my one-year anniversary on this planet. You can understand it if I can. There’s no question that I’m here for a purpose. I’m eager to watch how destiny unfolds.”
He promised to provide the “full narrative” at some point.
