Within hours of its launch, over 10 million users, including Nigerians, have joined the platform.
Threads is owned by Meta, founded by Mark Zuckerberg, and the surge in users follows new strict measures implemented by Elon Musk on Twitter.
Celebrities, Media Outlets, and Users Flock to Threads
Prominent Nigerian and foreign celebrities, media outlets, and individuals have already created active accounts on Threads.
Notable names include Ebuka, Funke Akindele, Adekunle Gold, Jennifer Lopez, Shakira, and Hugh Jackman.
Media outlets like Naija News, NTA News, The Washington Post, and The Economist are also present on the platform.
Garba Unfazed by Threads, Highlights Crowwe as Nigeria’s Global Platform
In response to the launch of Threads, Adamu Garba, who owns the digital platform Crowwe, expressed his lack of concern.
The former presidential aspirant emphasized that the market is large enough for multiple platforms.
He confidently stated that Nigeria will soon join the global platform market space with Crowwe, indicating his platform’s forthcoming impact.
Nigeria’s Growing Presence in the Global Platform Market
Garba’s tweet asserted that he is not bothered by the competition, implying that Nigeria’s own platform, Crowwe, will make a significant entry into the global platform market within a few days.
His tweet showcased optimism about the future of Nigerian platforms and their ability to thrive alongside established global players.
