This absence had caused a stir online, with many speculating about the reasons behind it.

However, the governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ferdinand Ekeom, spoke on behalf of the governor and dismissed claims that the absence was a deliberate act to disregard Tinubu’s position as the Nigerian president.

Ekeom clarified that while the state government does have President Tinubu’s portraits in some offices, they are not present in all offices.

He further emphasized that the same situation applies to the governor’s portraits as well.

According to Ekeom, the absence of these portraits in certain offices has nothing to do with politics but rather stems from the fact that the government is new and still in the process of placing pictures in various locations.

They have already placed some pictures and have additional ones on order.

Ekeom also accused the opposition in the state of being behind the media reports that aimed to discredit the governor.

He stated that during a meeting between the governor and permanent secretaries, the banquet hall still displayed the portrait of the former Governor Ikpeazu.

Ekeom strongly refuted the claim that the duly sworn-in president would not be recognized and considered such allegations to be baseless and senseless.

In summary, the missing portraits of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in some offices at the Abia Government House were explained by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity.

The absence was not a deliberate act of non-recognition but rather a result of the new government’s ongoing process of placing pictures in offices.

The governor’s spokesperson also accused the opposition of sponsoring media reports to discredit the governor and emphasized that the claims had no basis and were illogical.
