A truck driver reportedly became stuck for eight weeks while making a 28-hour round trip to deliver supplies to a distant town.

Kym Mozol had traveled 650 kilometers from Ceduna on the Eyre Peninsula in South Australia to Tjuntjuntjara in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia.

He was lost in the bush for two months when his pickup unexpectedly got stuck in a stretch of thick mud.

With barely 300 residents, the settlement of Tjuntjuntjara relies on Mr. Mozol to restock its supplies every two weeks.

With the aid of another truck, Mr. Mozol attempted to pull the truck out of the mud, but the 400 horsepower vehicle was no match for the challenging terrain.

While the remaining food was being carried in by air, the inhabitants of Tjuntjuntjara banded together and loaded the goods into trucks.

The standard supplies include tuna cans, bottled water, vegetable cans, juice boxes, cereal, and eggs.

Before the muck eventually dried out and a D6 Dozer was able to free the vehicle, it would take two months.

On a typical day, it is challenging for Mr. Mozol to drive the isolated route since he must often replace the tires on his vehicle.

The truck driver must be on the lookout for creatures like wombats, kangaroos, and camels that often cross his road.

He told ABC, “You simply have to turn off the lights and slip by them.” “Or they could end up in the bunk with you,” she warned.

Before returning home, Mr. Mozol often spends a little more than an hour unloading the truck at the neighborhood grocery shop.

He claims that he drives much of the time in quiet, thinking to himself while he considers his life.

It needed a “tough breed” of men and women to operate the trucks in such difficult terrain, according to Western Roads Federation CEO Cam Dumesny.

“[Truck drivers] are crucial to their communities’ continued viability as a whole.”
