A teenage farmer has died after he became trapped in a hay bale making machine at a farm

A teenage farmer died after becoming entangled in a hay bale producing machine on a farm.

The young farmer was working on a farm in Plympton, a suburb of Plymouth, Devon, when the unfortunate occurrence occurred, according to police.

According to the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), the worker was trapped and murdered while in the bale-wrapping machine on June 22.

The medical service contacted Devon and Cornwall Police after the teenager suffered serious injuries while working on the farm.

The fire department, police, and both land and air ambulances responded to the accident, but the boy was pronounced dead at the scene, according to authorities.

Police are not yet treating the death as suspicious.

According to Farmers Weekly, the HSE is treating the death as work-related and will conduct additional investigation.

Due of the farmer’s age, police indicated they will assist the HSE with their investigation.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: ‘Police were contacted by the ambulance service on the evening of Wednesday June 22 following reports of a teenage male having sustained serious injuries while working at a farm in the Plympton area of Plymouth.

‘The fire service, police, plus air and land ambulances all attended the scene, but tragically the male was pronounced deceased at the scene.

‘His next of kin have been informed and this death is not currently being treated as suspicious.

‘Due to the age of the male, police will support the Health and Safety Executive with their investigation into this matter.’
