A student who went missing a fortnight ago has been found dead in Bradford woodland 200 yards from the police district office.

Somaiya Begum, 20, was last seen on June 25 at around 2 p.m. at her Bradford, West Yorkshire, home where she shared a residence with her grandmother and uncle.

Near the Trafalgar House headquarters of West Yorkshire Police, where a 52-year-old man has now been re-arrested on suspicion of her murder, detectives discovered her body last night.

On June 26, Ms. Begum was reported missing, setting off a huge search effort.

One male, two other men, and a woman were detained by the police and released on bail while investigators continued.

The police said this morning that they had re-arrested a 52-year-old man on murder suspicion.

Initial footage showed police and forensics investigators inspecting a single industrial location that is surrounded by a lot of shipping containers.

At 7:35 p.m. yesterday, Ms Begum’s body was discovered on a different estate.

Investigators looking into the disappearance of Bradford resident Somaiya Begum have discovered a corpse, according to a West Yorkshire Police spokesperson.

Since she went missing on June 26, there have been numerous searches made in an effort to locate her.

The police would like to thank the public for helping with the ongoing investigation.

‘A body was discovered last evening at 7:35 in Bradford, close to Fitzwilliam Street.

“A scene is set up while forensic investigations are taking place.

The family of Somaiya has been notified, notwithstanding the lack of legal identification.

A 52-year-old guy has been detained once more by police on suspicion of murder and is still being held at this time.

Before she disappeared, Ms. Begum was wearing black denim trousers, a black shirt, and a black head scarf, according to the police, who also described her as Asian, slim-built, and having black hair.

She was frequently seen in the Barkerend neighbourhood of Bradford and on the campus of Leeds Beckett University, where it was assumed that she was enrolled.

Detective Chief Inspector Marc Bowes had stated at the time that there had been intensive police searches around Bradford over the previous two days to find Somaiya.

‘We are quite worried about Somaiya’s well-being; her disappearance is totally unexpected.

The inquiry has involved the employment of dogs, drones, neighbourhood police patrols, and specialized search officers.

“Officers continue to comb through CCTV, make house to house inquiries, and have spoken to a number of locals.”

‘Somaiya’s disappearance is still unsolved as of right now.

I’d want to make a public appeal to the neighbourhood and anyone who might know where Somaiya is or who might know something that could help our inquiry to come forward.
