A passenger jet was safely evacuated at Copenhagen airport Wednesday after a fire broke out in one of the engines

According to Danish authorities, a passenger plane was evacuated from the airport in Copenhagen on Wednesday night after a fire started in one of the engines.

Firefighters were seen hosing down the jet while passengers watched from a waiting area in dramatic photos.

The Airbus A320-passengers 232’s and crew all disembarked safely, according to tweets from the police.

‘A passenger jet that was at the gate caught fire in one of its engines. The fire is out.

Passengers left the plane. Police tweeted, “No injuries.”

According to British Airways sources, smoke was seen flowing from the plane at the gate at around 8 p.m. as a result of “heated brakes.”

The passengers’ frustration level increased when the trip back to London was cancelled.

Teams from the airport were seen checking the plane’s wing and engine for damage in video and pictures shared on Twitter.

In a statement, British Airways said: “All passengers and crew safely exited the BA820.

No aircraft would ever be flown by us unless it was safe to do so.

It is the most recent blow suffered by the airline, which has been rocked by ongoing delays, difficulties, cancellations, and complaints as the summer season gets underway.

BA warned that the number could increase to 18,750 cancellations by the end of this week. Up to the end of June, BA cancelled 17,600 flights, or 2.8 million seats.

This month alone, nearly 1,000 additional flights have already been cancelled, including 785 from Heathrow and 186 from Gatwick.
