A 10-year-old child was attacked by an 8-foot bull shark while diving off the Florida Keys, necessitating amputation of his leg below the knee to save his life.

Jameson Jr. was taken back aboard the boat with his family before relatives signaled a neighboring boat carrying a nurse at around 4.30 p.m., half an hour after the incident. As he was taken to shore, a tourniquet was put over the boy’s wounds to halt the bleeding. He was subsequently helicoptered to Nicklaujs Children’s Hospital in Miami.
The victim’s uncle posted on Facebook: ‘The whole time Jameson Jr. was being cared for on the way to and at the hospital, he was expressing his faith and inquiring whether others knew Jesus.’
“If you know my brother Jameson, you know he has always functioned in this manner, and he has a son named Jameson Jr. who is much like him in that he is constantly sharing his faith and wants people to know the gift of everlasting salvation and the love and forgiveness that Jesus provides us,” the speaker said.
He is now out of surgery and recuperating, and he has been informed of what transpired. However, he is still healthy and in excellent spirits, and he will tell millions of people across the globe how Jesus spared his life and rescued him, according to Reeder’s article. As of Thursday evening, more than $46,000 had been contributed to Jameson Jr.’s medical bills via a GiveSendGo (GSG) fundraising website created by the victim’s uncle.

Since April, the assault on Saturday was the fourth shark-related occurrence in the Florida Keys. In the Sunshine State this summer, a 13-year-old boy was bitten in the face, along with a teenager female.
Volusia County, which contains Daytona Beach and is known as the “shark bite capital of the world,” has already had six shark attacks in 2018.
Officials at the beach have advised guests to swim near a lifeguard and to avoid swimming alone.
