15-year-old relative of a teenager stabbed to death at Sydney’s Easter Show pleaded guilty

A kid has pleaded guilty to two serious crimes after allegedly attempting to assist a teenager who was fatally stabbed in a major brawl at Sydney’s Easter Show.

Uati ‘Pele’ Faletolu, 17, was fatally knifed in the chest while working on the Break Dance ride at Sydney Showground on Monday night, and police are still looking for the killer.’

Officers detained the 15-year-old at the scene in April after discovering him in possession of a 10cm folding knife, with the lad yelling’six, seven, motherf***er’ as he was handcuffed, a reference to postcode gangs.

He was charged with being armed with the intent to commit an indictable offense, carrying a knife in a public place, and affray.

According to ABC reporting, the boy’s case was heard briefly on Tuesday at Parramatta Children’s Court, where he pled guilty to the first two offences but denied the third.

The 15-year-old was released on bond with tight conditions after being excused from court.

The child is said to have come to Uati’s help after he was attacked outside the ride where he works.

After discovering that Uati had been stabbed, the adolescent allegedly pulled out a 10cm knife and pursued down three unknown males, according to a prior hearing.

Police in NSW believe he was not involved in the fatal stabbing and are still searching for the perpetrators. It’s also unclear whether the victim was a participant in the purported gang activity or was just caught up in the chaos.

The boy yelled’six, seven, motherf**ker’ as police officers secured his handcuffs in a video of the arrest.

The comments have fueled speculation that the stabbing was the result of a postcode feud between two groups: 67 from Doonside and 27 from Mount Druitt.

The groups are called after the postcodes 2767 and 2770, respectively.

The case has been rescheduled until June 21.

Meanwhile, despite sifting through hours of CCTV footage from the day of Uati’s killing, authorities are still on the hunt for the 17-year-killer. old’s
