She was cheated.

Amy Goossens, a resident of the Upper West Side, was startled when she received a $115 ticket earlier this month for unlawfully parking next to a fire hydrant at the intersection of West 73rd Street and Riverside Drive.

There was no fire hydrant present. She had parked in an authorized location near a Fire Department call box.

The interior designer exploded to The Post, “This is a money grab!” “I reside nearby and I parked there. I am well familiar with the rules and the streets.”

Apparently, the NYPD officer who issued the ticket is unaware of the distinction between a call box and a hydrant. Call boxes are tall, red towers that connect a caller directly to fire dispatchers, as opposed to 911 operators.

Goossens’ 2015 black Mercedes-Benz C300 was parked in front of 252 West 73rd Street at 2:26 a.m. on January 7.

According to the summons issued by the 20th Precinct, Goossens’ black 2015 Mercedes-Benz C300 was parked in front of 252 West 73rd Street at 2:26 a.m. Jan. 7.

The traffic officer from the 20th Precinct checked the hydrant box and observed that Goossens’ Mercedes was one foot away.

Goossens stated that she was angry.

“Even if you were a newbie police officer, you must know. So I took a couple photographs,” stated Goossens.

The native of Alabama is hardly a country bumpkin.

“I’ve lived in the city for too long. “I am a New Yorker,” stated Goossens. “I’m not going to tolerate anyone’s crap. New Yorkers are aware when someone is attempting to f–k with them. You must counterattack.”

Goossens contested the ticket with the city online, giving images and an explanation: “I said, ‘Give me a break, it’s a f–king call box!’”

Her situation is pending.
