Sam Bankman-attorneys Fried’s said Thursday that a car intentionally and maliciously crashed through a metal barricade outside of his California home, where he is undergoing house detention.

Three guys exited the vehicle and warned the security guard guarding the Palo Alto property, “You won’t be able to keep us out,” according to a Manhattan federal court filing by Bankman-attorneys. Fried’s

After making the threat, the trio, who have not been identified, returned to their vehicle and drove away.

Bankman-Fried, the 30-year-old founder of the defunct cryptocurrency exchange FTX, has been residing in his parents’ $4 million Palo Alto home after posting a $250 million bond to be released on bail.

After receiving death threats, the family hired a $10,000-per-week armed security detail to protect the home of the alleged cryptocurrency fraudster.

Mark Cohen and Christian Everdell, Bankman-attorneys, Fried’s could not specify a precise date for the claimed threat, but stated it occurred lately.

The attorneys highlighted the incident in an effort to thwart media attempts to reveal the identity of two individuals who, together with Bankman-parents, Fried’s helped put up his bond.

In a letter to US District Judge Lewis Kaplan, the attorneys argued that the people’ names should stay confidential owing to “significant privacy and safety concerns” arising from the prominence of the case.

They added that the case’s prosecutors have not requested the identity of the two sureties and have no strong feelings either way.

In Manhattan federal court earlier this month, Bankman-Fried pled not guilty to accusations including wire fraud, securities fraud, conspiracy, money laundering, and campaign finance violations.

The alleged crypto criminal is accused of defrauding investors and users of FTX by diverting $1.8 billion invested in the platform to his hedge fund and excessive personal expenditures.

If convicted of all charges, he may spend up to 115 years in prison.
