X-Pac is still amazed by the time the nWo forced the Steiner Brothers off the road.

Kevin Nash was driving the vehicle. Scott Hall was in the front seat. X-Pac, whose true name is Sean Waltman and wrestling identity at the time, in early 1997, was Syxx, was recording the road rage incident with a camcorder from the backseat. Throughout the part, Nash repeatedly collided with Scott and Rick Steiner’s vehicle until it overturned in a horrific collision.

“This was one of my favorite things I’ve ever done with the nWo,” Waltman remarked with satisfaction to The Post.

Waltman was speaking on behalf of the A&E documentary “Biography: WWE Legends” about the nWo, which premieres on Sunday, February 19 at 8 p.m.

As Waltman recounts, the road fury he witnessed on “WCW Monday Nitro” was not the result of extensive planning.

“When I arrived at work that day, they informed me that we had run the Steiner Brothers off the road,” he explained.

Real believers in professional wrestling would be startled to find that the Steiners did not perform this scene themselves. Ellis Edwards, a longtime stuntman for WCW and later WWE, was assigned this duty. Edwards has appeared in numerous more television shows and films, including “Baywatch” and “Furious 7.”

Before to the scenario in which the Steiners’ car flipped, he does not recall feeling apprehensive that the portion of the stunt they did actually do, bumping up the automobile, may go awry.

He stated, “It could have, but at the time we didn’t believe much could harm us, so we weren’t afraid.” “I probably should only speak for myself, but I was not afraid. I’ve been in a few automobile accidents, gotten a little bit messed up, and in terms of what we did for a job, I wasn’t overly concerned.”

The nWo essentially ran roughshod over WCW from the moment Hall and Nash left WWE (WWF at the time) and appeared in 1996, to the infamous Hulk Hogan heel turn at “Bash at the Beach.” The storyline allowed WCW to defeat WWE in the head-to-head rating and put Vince McMahon’s company on the ropes during the infamous “Monday Night Wars.” It was years before the scene ever re-aired.

“It was crazy,” recalled Waltman, now a two-time WWE Hall of Famer with the nWo and D-Generation X. It was a vehicular homicide attempt! ”

Waltman has publicly fought drug addictions including cocaine, methamphetamine, and prescription analgesics. In 2008, he attempted suicide in Mexico. Throughout the interview, he discussed his recovery path and the realization that he needed to change his life.

“Whenever I or others believed I had finally reached rock bottom, I always proved myself and others incorrect. “I’d reached a new low point,” he claimed. “It’s just one of those things where for me where for the longest time I wanted to want to be better. I simply thought, “What’s wrong with me that I can’t genuinely accomplish this? ’

“That happened gradually for me. I am unable to describe rock bottom. Because you would assume that hanging myself from the roof of my apartment in Mexico or other truly terrible things would have been the cause, but they were not. I progressed, but I would regress.

“Finally, I’ve surrounded myself with the right people and the proper resources, and I’m really blessed to have so many wonderful friends who never gave up on me. Or even that came into my life in recent years that seemed like taking a chance on me.”
