After being remanded to detention after breaching parole, a drug user imprisoned in South Australia for the murder of a cross-dressing truck driver has begged to be released once more.
Nicole Therese McGuinness appeared in front of the Supreme Court on Monday, requesting a new release date despite previously violating her freedom conditions by consuming narcotics.
After pleading guilty to the murder of Joanne Lillecrapp, also known as John, McGuinness was sentenced to at least 18 years in prison in 2003.
She stabbed her victim in the chest and then dissected the body with her lover Donna Lee Casagrande, burning the head and burying the rest beneath a strawberry field.
After pleading guilty to manslaughter, Casagrande was sentenced to at least ten years in prison.
McGuinness was first granted parole in early 2021, but the court was informed on Monday that she had repeatedly violated the terms of her release by failing drug tests.
She requested that she be punished to time served for those violations, allowing her to reapply for immediate release.
Justice Laura Stein is holding off on making a decision.
