The waiter allegedly was groped by Stefanovic, 48, during the Mercedes-Benz melanoma charity event in Newstead, Brisbane, on August 20 evening, according to the Courier Mail.

The host of the six-hour event, Stefanovic, was accompanied by his wife, Jasmine Yarbrough.

A representative for the Queensland Police Service confirmed they were investigating a report of an alleged assault at a Newstead business on Saturday, August 20, during an event.

“We have just raised the roof for you, your fights, your charity, and everyone else battling melanoma.”

The proceeds of the fundraiser, which aimed to enhance cancer awareness, detection, and treatment, were donated to The Mater Foundation and Melanoma Institute of Australia.

Melanoma claims the life of one Australian every six hours, according to the fundraising website.

The Six Hour Project is determined to alter this tragic statistic.

Ms. Savage had already told the story of her diagnosis in an interview with Stefanovic on the Today show prior to the reunion for the fundraiser.

Stefanovic was photographed at Sydney airport on Wednesday after returning to Australia from England, prompting the charges.

The television host was dispatched to London on September 13 to cover the death and funeral of Queen Elizabeth II.

Channel Nine has been approached by Daily Mail Australia for comment.
