US Embassy in Mexico City announces FBI’s investigation of US kidnapped citizens

The US Embassy in Mexico City has announced that the FBI is investigating the kidnapping of four US citizens who were last seen in Mexico.

According to the embassy, the Americans had crossed into Matamoros, Tamaulipas, on March 3 in a white minivan with North Carolina plates when they came under fire.

Gunmen then pulled all four Americans out of the van at gunpoint and ordered them into another vehicle before driving away.

The embassy provided no further details on the abduction or the victims.

However, the FBI is now offering a $50,000 reward for the victims’ return and their kidnappers’ arrests. They have also urged anyone with information to call its San Antonio division at 210-225-6741.

Matamoros, where the incident occurred, is located along the Rio Grande across from Brownsville, Texas. The FBI’s investigation is ongoing, and further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
