University of St. Thomas Introduces Sexuality and Gender Studies Program Rooted in Catholic Anthropology to Counter Ideological Narratives

In response to the prevalence of gender studies programs propagating ideologies contrary to Catholic teachings, the University of St. Thomas (UST) in Houston announces the launch of a sexuality and gender studies program grounded in “Catholic anthropology.”

Addressing Knowledge Gaps in Gender and Sexuality Discourse

Recognizing the prominence of discussions surrounding gender and sexuality in various professional fields, UST aims to equip Christian leaders with the necessary knowledge and understanding to engage in these conversations authentically and compassionately.

Flexibility and Faithfulness in Program Design

The program, directed by Kevin Stuart of the Nesti Center for Faith & Culture, offers a part-time and flexible curriculum, enabling students to earn a graduate certificate in sexuality and gender studies.

Leah Jacobson, renowned Catholic speaker and author, is among the program’s faculty, contributing her expertise to the initiative.

Fulfilling the Need for Faithful Professionals

Kevin Stuart emphasizes the critical need for professionals well-versed in Catholic anthropology to navigate challenging cases related to sexuality and gender.

The program aims to fill this gap by fostering well-formed and well-informed individuals capable of addressing complex issues with fidelity and compassion.

Rooted in Catholic Anthropological Principles

Guided by Catholic anthropology, the program seeks to provide a comprehensive understanding of human sexuality and gender identity, rooted in the teachings of the Catholic Church.

By grounding discussions in these principles, UST aims to offer a unique and valuable perspective amidst contemporary societal debates.
