»Universal will develop a theme park for young children in Texas«
Officials announced on Wednesday that Universal Parks & Resorts will bring a theme park to Texas that will focus on entertaining young children.
The “unique” park in the Dallas suburb of Frisco will have attractions, interactive events, and character meet-and-greets, according to a corporate press release.
Page Thompson, the company’s head of new initiatives, estimates that it will be approximately a quarter of the size of the company’s huge Orlando theme parks.
“Even though it is smaller than our other parks in terms of acreage, the quality and level are worthy of the Universal name,” Thompson said during a news conference in Frisco.
Universal Parks & Resorts recently acquired 97 acres for the park and a 300-room hotel, according to company representatives.
According to a news release, the business also announced on Wednesday a new permanent entertainment experience in Las Vegas that will “bring to life Universal’s vast library of classic horror films and today’s most terrifying tales.”
The business has produced “a permanent horror experience beyond its theme parks” for the first time. The experience will encompass an area of 110,000 square feet. It will be the anchor tenant of a 2020-opened, 20-acre expansion of the city’s AREA15 entertainment zone.
The corporation did not provide an estimated completion date for the projects.
Universal Parks & Resorts, a division of Comcast NBCUniversal, operates theme parks worldwide, including Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort in the United States. The company opened a theme park in Beijing in 2021, making it its sixth park worldwide. Additionally, there are parks in Japan and Singapore.
