The victim had a severe brain damage and has been mute ever since. According to his relatives, his life has been “tragically transformed.”

They said, “On June 23, 2022, our loving and caring husband/father, a 62-year-old Sikh priest, had his life tragically altered forever when a thug cowardly committed this heinous act, leaving him in a pool of blood with catastrophic permanent life-changing brain damage, and walked away as if it were normal behavior.”

“A committed husband and father who has lived, worked, and supported a community in a city he has cherished for 37 years, but who cannot even leave the hospital due to his illness.

‘He worked long hours every day to help his children live the life he never got to and make sure we were raised to help and inspire future generations, raising a teacher, a pharmacist and a soon-to-be doctor.

People watched as a Sikh priest was left for dead on the busy streets of Manchester, where he walks home every day. The nasty, vicious men who assaulted him blindly and savagely are still at large.

“We hear about terrible events in the news, but we never expect them to happen to one of our own, a man who was incapable of uttering a single harsh or negative word and who encouraged those around him to practice compassion.

“We have lost the life of the party, the light in the midst of our despair, and the laughter and pleasure he brought home every day. Our hearts are now empty.” The man who went for work that day and intended to go home to enjoy the pleasant weather will never return.

It has been more than two months since the event, and we are no closer to locating the perpetrator and bringing them to justice for their acts. Therefore, we are appealing to anybody with information or who may know the perpetrator to come forward. Our husband/father resides in a hospital bed with life-altering injuries, uncertain of his future.

Please act now, not out of hatred, but to prevent this tragedy from reoccurring and ripping another family apart, as we would not want this suffering on anyone else.
