Following the departure of Chris Evans and Matt LeBlanc from the renowned BBC show, the trio took over and have been a huge hit ever since.

We take a closer look at Chris and his past as they embark on their third series together.

Here’s all you need to know about him, including his previous occupations, wife, and other TV series on which he’s appeared.

Who is Chris Harris?

Chris is a 47-year-old motoring journalist, racer, and broadcaster who has contributed to magazines such as Evo and Autocar.

Even more impressive, he has a long racing history, having won his first race in a Formula Palmer Audi in 2000.

He’s also driven Porsche, Aston Martin, and Renault cars on the track.

Is Chris Harris married or unmarried?

Chris is a master at keeping his wife and three children out of his professional life.

Because his public life revolves primarily around vehicles, little is known about his marriage and family.

When did Chris Harris become a host of Top Gear?

When Chris Evans and Matt LeBlanc both joined the Top Gear lineup in 2016, the 23rd series of the show, Chris became a recurrent presenter.

Next Evans’ resignation, he was promoted to primary presenter the following series, and he co-hosted the show with LeBlanc and Rory Reid.

‘I don’t feel that pressure at all, what we’ve got is a clean piece of paper to go and mess around with cars and present a show on the BBC; it’s a great honour,’ Chris told Metro.co.uk when he joined the panel with Flintoff and McGuinness.

What other shows has Chris Harris appeared on?

Chris rose to fame before joining Top Gear because of his YouTube program Chris Harris on Cars.

Chris departed the network and started his own channel in 2014 after creating a series on the /DRIVE channel in 2012.

His films have been viewed millions of times and he currently has over 485k subscribers.

Chris and Rory previously hosted Extra Gear, a Top Gear spin-off show, before moving on to the main show.
